Alford CFS all about community

The Alford Country Fire Service brigade values mateship, and ensures being a member is an enjoyable experience without forgetting the serious nature of the work.  Currently the station has 13 active members but it hasnt had anyone new join for about two years. Andrew Pearce has been a volunteer for 15 years and captain since 2004, a role which entails organising crews for jobs and training exercises. I got into the CFS because its an important part of the community, Mr Pearce said. Im a farmer and I know if I had a fire on my property I would like someone to help me. Farm and grass fires are our most common call outs, as well as car accidents.
